What tripod is right for you?

There are so many different tripods out there so it may be difficult to know which one is best for you. Not sure if you need a tripod? Check our previous blog on when to use a tripod.    

We will look at some of our preferred tripods that suit the needs of different photographers. Do you need a lightweight, compact tripod? Or something with more anchor for outdoor settings? Check out our list and see if there is a tripod for you.  

MeFOTO   

MeFOTO is a great travel tripod that we have mentioned in a previous blog. MeFOTO offers several different tripods so you can find the best fit! They offer aluminum and carbon fiber options. The tripods are nice and compact which is perfect for travel photographers. Below we will discuss the MeFOTO Backpacker Classic.    

The Backpacker classic is the perfect tripod for a photographer on the road. The aluminum model weighs 2 lbs and has a 5-year warranty! The minimum height is 16.5 inches, the maximum height is 51.6 inches, and the folded length is 12.2 inches. It also has a recessed center column hook so you can add more weight to the tripod for increased stability. It has 5 leg sections so you can get the perfect height that you need. The Backpacker Classic also offers separate head and pan lock as well as a Q series ball head, to perfectly adjust your camera to the angle you need. Manfrotto MT190XPRO4   

MT190xPRO4 is a very versatile tripod, perfect for photographers with many needs and shooting capabilities. The PRO4 has a 90-degree column system that can extend vertically and horizontally! The aluminum model offers a minimum height of 3.15 inches, a maximum height of 53.15 inches, and a folded length of 19.29 inches. It can hold 15.43 lbs, and on its own weighs 4.51 lbs. This tripod has 4 leg sections and a level so you have guaranteed stability and aligned photos. The PRO4 offers QPL levers for more powerful locking, making it more stable than traditional lever designs.    

Novo Explora T5   

When searching for the best tripod that suits your needs, check out the Nova Explora T5. This tripod comes with a 5-year warranty and is made from 8-layer carbon fiber. This differs from the previous tripods in this blog that have been aluminum. It offers an interchangeable and detachable monopod, giving you the ability to change it out for a different one if need be. It has rubber spiked feet for a good grip. The Benro Travel Angel tripod is perfect for travel photographers. It comes with a B1 Ball Head. The B1 Ball Head offers the photographer separate drag adjustments and lock knobs. The tripod is offered in both aluminum and carbon fiber and we will go over both options. Both the aluminum and carbon fiber options offer a load capacity of 17.6lbs or 22 lbs. We looked into the higher load option, covered below. It offers 4-section twist and lock legs.    

Aluminum: The minimum height is 17.9 inches; the maximum height is 62.8 inches. It has a folded length of 24 inches and weighs 4.6 lbs.

This is another great tripod that also includes a removable monopod. This tripod is great for both indoor and outdoor photography. With the monopod, you get the versatility you need to capture the perfect shot. As it offers a 360-degree rotatable base as well as a level bubble, you can take photos that are perfectly aligned.
