This week we’re going to take a look at some of the tips and tricks that may have flown under your radar. Hey, it’s comprehensive software. It’s pretty darn difficult to know all the things.
General:
You can use the keyboard shortcut F to toggle in and out of a full screen view in View, Develop, or Edit mode.

You can customize the background color of ACDSee QuickView. While in QuickView, go to Tools | Options, then click the color box in the Background section.
In Manage Mode:
In the File List pane, you can use SHIFT + right-click on a thumbnail to access the Windows context menu.
You can hover your mouse over any symbol in the Info palette and an explanatory tooltip will pop up.

You can add images to the Image Basket by dragging them from Windows Explorer.
With a thumbnail selected, you can use the keyboard shortcut CTRL+0-5 to quickly rate your images.

You can toggle the Map pane open and closed with the keyboard shortcut CTRL+SHIFT+M.
To expedite your zooming in process, enter your desired location in the Map pane’s search field in the top right corner, and press Enter.

You can use the Selective Browsing pane to locate photos with multiple criteria, such as a rating and a color label, in multiple folders at once.
You can customize the order in which your files appear in the File List pane. Select one or more files and drag them to a new location in the File List. You can delete this custom order by clicking View | Sort By | Delete Custom Sort.
Edit:
You can use ACDSee Actions as a comprehensive batch processing tool. You “record” any and all 200+ possible adjustments in Edit mode, and then “play” them back on other images.

Using ACDSee Actions, you can apply a recording to a singular layer (in ACDSee Ultimate) by selecting the layer in the Layered Editor and pressing the Play button in the Actions window.
You can reset the color boxes in the Drawing and Selections toolbar by pressing the small reset button next to them.

Develop Mode:
You can save the settings you make in Develop mode as presets. You can then apply those exact settings to other images whenever you want.

Edit & Develop Mode:
For any slider anywhere in Edit or Develop mode, you can right-click it to get it to instantly reset to the default value.
For any brush in Edit or Develop mode, your left mouse button brushes the effect on, while the right mouse button erases the effect. Quick switching for the win!
You can also scroll with your mouse wheel while using the brush to adjust the size of the brush. Or, press SHIFT while scrolling with the mouse wheel to adjust feathering
When you zoom in, the Navigator appears. You can drag your cursor to the section of the image you would like to see magnified. However, if you right-click the Navigator and choose Use manual window. The Navigator icon will appear instead of the window. Click and hold the Navigator icon to display the window. Then drag your cursor to the section of the image you would like to see magnified.
