We are pleased to announce that ACDSee is now able to support Canon CR3 RAW files. This is something that we have been working on for some time and are excited that we are finally able to announce! Below we will discuss what Canon CR3 RAW files are, as well as what cameras we will be supporting.

What is a Canon CR3 RAW file & does my Canon camera support CR3 RAW files?

Canon CR3 files are RAW file extensions. With this format, your computer will read these extensions to allow you to edit them. Since CR3 is a new file format, few editing software programs have had access to them.

Wondering if your Canon camera uses CR3 files? If your Canon camera has a Digic 8 Processor, it will usually use a CR3 file format. Want to know what Canon cameras ACDSee is supporting? We’ve listed them below!

Canon CR3 RAW File Support

For all you Sony a7 III owners out there, we got your back. Please follow the steps below to update the RAW plugins files to include Sony a7 III RAW Support in ACDSee Ultimate, ACDSee Pro 2018 and ACDSee Home:

To verify if your Windows Operation System is 32-bit or 64-bit version, you can use the steps below

Check the System Type to determine if your system is 32-bit or 64-bit.

After download, copy the downloaded plugin file “ID_DCRaw.apl” to the ACDSee Plugins folder

For ACDSee Photo Studio Ultimate, the ACDSee plugin folder is located at:
“C:Program FilesACD SystemsACDSee Ultimate11.0PlugIns”

For ACDSee Photo Studio Professional, the ACDSee plugin folder is located at:
“C:Program FilesACD SystemsACDSee Pro11.0PlugIns”

For ACDSee Photo Studio Standard, the ACDSee plugin folder is located at:
“C:Program FilesACD SystemsACDSee21.0PlugIns” for 64-bit System
or for 32-bit system, “C:Program Files (x86)ACD SystemsACDSee21.0PlugIns”

You will be prompted for administrator permission. Click the Continue button to proceed.
