How do you import this ? When I try to import actions, I get asked for a .acdapk file

  • James W

    Hi Ario,

After you download this action pack “acdsee-actions-pack-1.acdapk” from this site, you can then import it with the following steps:

    – In the Edit mode, click Tools | Browse Actions..
    – In the Action Browser window, click the import button to import. The import button is located on the bottom left of the window, an icon with a downward arrow into a box

    – Browse to the folder when that action pack is stored and start importing.

    Hope this helps.

Note, action import and export is a new feature implemented in ACDSee Pro 2019 and ACDSee Ultimate 2019.

James W., you seemed to miss Ario’s point.
During the import, ACDsee is looking for an *.acdapk file, but the Downloaded files are ALL *.acda not acdapk. This is my second attempt to post this message. Not sure why the first didn’t get accepted.

      • Hi there, i’ve just downloaded from the download-link above, and the one and only file ist the requested *.acdapk
Everything worked fine. in the way James W. has described. Perhaps you may trie again.
        Best regards from Germany

I know this is an old post but I found a solution. When downloading the above actions using Firefox, I got the same results you did. A bunch of individual .acda files (after unzipping). When I downloaded using the Chrome browser, I got the .acdapk file needed and was able to import the actions as James W. instructed.

    • Alan Stanton

Thanks James, Worked fine for me.

I presume the actions pack does NOT work with ACDSee Pro 2018 as there’s no import button in the actions window. Am I missing something? Thanks.

      • ACD Systems International

Hi John, Actions Pack only works With ACDSee Photo Studio 2019 products.

Hello, I’m Running ACD Ultimate 18. Is there a way to load my old Photoshop actions in ACDSee? They all have an ATN file extension
    Thanks, Ray.

    • ACD Systems International

Hello Ray, thank you for being part of the ACDSee community. Unfortunately our program does not support Photoshop actions.

I too must be an idiot on this topic. I have ACDsee Ultimate 2019. I’ve applied the most recent updates as of 20 minutes ago. I’ve tried to follow the exact steps noted by James W and have not been able to import anything due to file extension conflicts. I’ve taken screen shots of each step along the way to show exactly what I’m experiencing:

I would appreciate assistance in getting this working properly. I confess, I’m definitely not an expert at using the tool. I’m a very casual user of the product and even though I’ve got a few hundred thousand pictures, I only tend to touch the tool and the associated pictures a few times per year.

  • AlAn

In my case if I download with GoogleChrome I get a .zip file, with Microsoft Edge I get a .acdapk file

  • AlonProducer

Hi, how do import .acdapk packs into ACDSee Photo Studio 5?

    • ACD Systems International

Hi our .acdapk only work with our PC version. We will take your suggestion into consideration on expanding it to our Mac Version as well.

      • AlonProducer

I would assume that would be a clear distinct way both a program on PC and MAC work the same. Very strange. Please do keep me posted.

Is this all there is for additional effects? I like experimenting with presets, effects, filters, actions … whatever you want to call them … in other apps (iPhone, Instagram, Snapseed, ON-1, Lightroom, etc.) but find ACDsee sorely lacking in this area. Am I missing something? I absolutely love using ACDsee for organizing and editing, but am wishing there was effects/actions.

    • ACD Systems International

At the moment this is all we have for actions. You can also create your own actions. Learn how to here https://youtu.be/gJUUlgKKrFA

    • ACD Systems International

This is what we have for preset actions. There’s also around 60 effects in Special Effects in Edit mode. And another 20+ under Photo Effect. You can also make a preset actions out of just about any combo of filters and adjustments. Learn how to create your own actions here https://youtu.be/gJUUlgKKrFA

      • Jod.z

Thank you. I don’t often use the Edit mode, I mostly use Develop. I’ve played around with the photo effects there a bit, but haven’t found them to be particularly interesting. I just looked at the Special Effects in Edit mode and they remind me of Photoshop effects that I haven’t found much use for. What was shown in the video looks more interesting. Just a suggestion to look at other apps mentioned in my first comment and add similar effects for us to use. Thanks for considering!

Can I use Actions from: Photoshop CS2-CS6, Elements 11-20 ?

  • Kevin Bruff

10-02-2020 thank you I will try them out soon.

  • Kevin Bruff

Is there a way to edit actions? To view them as a discreet modules and change them?

    • ACD Systems International

Hi Kevin, no unfortunately you cannot modify them.
