Wrong image selected for processing

I'm comming a bit late to this beat test so apologies if this has already been covered.

In browser/manage view I right click an image and select Process>Develop. The Develop window opens with the image loaded and a text message at the bottom saying "loading...". Once this is complete a new image appears ready for processing. The image is actually the previous in the file list not the one I originally selected. The flimstrip at the bottom of the develop window has the original image I wanted to process selected. On cancelling out of develop mode I'm back into manage mode and the image selected is the previous one - i.e. the one that was subsequently loaded in develop mode and was the one I did not want to process.

Having done a bit more testing I think the problem revolves around un-recognized source data in a file.

The file directory has a mixture of .nef, .xmp, .tiff, .jpg and .hdr files. In develop mode ACDSee shows thumbnails for the files in the filmstrip. On selecting the first .hdr file in the list the actual thumbnail is the next image but ACDSee status bar says "182/301 / Filename / filesize / The source data format is not recognized. / Database dat........etc.".  The title bar has the name of the .hdr file. It seems to me that ACDSee is either not skipping files it can't process (.hdr) or, if it can process them, not doing so correctly. Please let me know if you need any further details to help resovle this problem.
