Just wondering if anyone knows if there will ever be a Mac version of ACDSee Photo Editor?  I love the software, but I want to get a Macbook and I don't want to be stuck with Adobe.

    Dear Kristine,

Mac support was an often requested port of ACDsee.

At the Photokina in Germany ACDsee had a little sign at their booth that there is work going on about such a version. When and how this version will hit the market was not yet clear. But if there will be a version besides windows it will definitly be a Mac version as it seems.

The ACDSee store page for ACDSee Pro 2.5 shows it running on a Macbook.

    http://store.acdsee.com/store/acd/ContentTheme/pbPage.en_forPros/Locale.en_US/Currency.USD

This seems like an obvious hint that they would put a Mac on the front page of ACDSee Pro!

If you take a close look at this image you will realize that the display of the macbook shows a windows screen. This can be recognized by the blue top bar and the three grey simbols to the right. So in the end it is just a virtual windows on the mac book. But anyway who knows what this means :P

This is more deceptive advertising than "hinting" (note the Windows GUI, as moongate said). I highly doubt an ACD Mac product is anywhere near ready to promote thus. I never even heard of a beta for it, and ACD will want to thoroughly beta test anything they intend to sell (based on the quality of their actual releases...).

Sure, Windows products run via emulation on Macs. But if you're a Windows-only software company, that is not the promotional angle you take.

Wasn't this the same page on the site that had ACDSee Pro 2.5 running on an Apple Display monitor? Or is that another page? Hopefully they are not doing this across the board. Who designs the web graphics here? Call them out!

kschindel, look into GraphicConverter if you go Mac.

Here's the page for signing up to be notified when ACDSee Pro for Mac goes into beta.  I have not heard anything about a Photo Editor for Mac though.  A lot of the requests have been for the photo management software rather than the editor.  Please send in your requests though...they ARE listening!  HTH!
