Trying to even activate Import via WIA brings up an error dialog that says another process is using it with the option to Switch to the other process, Retry, (Cancel is grayed out). Switch To triggers the Start menu for some reason, retry is an endless loop and, since Cancel is not clickable, the only way out is to kill ACDsee through Task Manager. Other programs import through WIA just fine.

Are you using an HP MFC? Mine is an HP Laserjet 3055, and I have the same problem. No problem before I moved to 64 bit Vista Ultimate, though.

I have discovered the problem with trying to import from an HP Laserjet 3055. It is not a problem with Photo Manager. It is a problem with HP drivers. You can get the entire HP Package (which includes the scanner drivers from HP --ONLY-- in 32 bit. The 64 bit drivers are only for the printer.
