Upgrading from Pro 1.0 to 3.0 - do I really want to?

I have the original ACDSee Pro 1.0, and was considering upgrading to the latest.

I use this application purely for organization, keyword application/search, and viewing.  I don't really care at all about the editing/developing changes as I have Lightroom/Photoshop for that.  But, from an asset management point of view I like ACDSee better.

It seems, though, that many people are not happy with the overall changes made to the program.  My question is whether or not this applies to the organization side of it.  Have there been major improvements in this area?  or should I just stay with 1.0?

First, while it is true that some people are having trouble getting accustomed the powerful new editing features, I think most people - including most who *initially* had trouble adjusting - are finding Pro 3 a huge improvement over previous versions.  But that's all on the image processing side.  For cataloging, there are really very few changes from the original pro to pro 2 to pro 2.5 to pro 3.  Although I suppose if you take all the relatively small changes together, it might add up to enough to consider upgrading for.  Off the top of my head, here are some thing that have been added since the original Pro:

    - support for writing IPTC info to DNG files

    - "auto categories": a quick way to access all files with given EXIF or IPTC properties

    - embedded metadata - the ability to write all db info into XMP fields so you're less reliant on the integrity of the db

Hmm, probably a couple of other small things.  But the first and third things on the list above are actually potentially pretty big, depending on your workflow.
