Transfer rated files from one PC to another

While out in the field or on holiday I found myself copying the results of a shoot to my notebook.
After getting a first look a the pictures I made use of ACDsee´s rating system for the first time and wanted to copy the files to my main PC at home later. But now I find myself in the situation that the rating system only works with the ACDsee Database? and the ratings can not be written to the images.

Since the DB´s on both computers are completely different I cannot backup/restore the database either.

Do I have to get pencil and paper now or is there a digital way of getting the ratings of those files back in sync?

Sure - batch write out all ratings to an IPTC field (I use Urgency) on the first computer, batch read it on the other. I have presets to do this (along with keywords and most other db fields), and as you probably realize, I run the write operation a a regular part of my workflow, so my images are always ready to be ready to be used on another computer in this way.

You can also try exporting the db info for the relevant files and importing this exported db on the other computer. This is generally clunkier, but it might help if the images are already transferred and you don't have any easy way of doing that again.
