I must say hi Mr Winslow,

Captain, master-chef, promotech guru. Thank you for indicating the option offered to maccanvas users - get a new mac with intel and 10.5 and run Canvas 11 using Windows-running software.

    Is this correct?

I wonder what the glitches are that you would prefer not to mention?

Very interested then, to hear from others who are running this set up.

How much adaptation to an MS system is needed, or how similar is it for Mac users?

Any problems opening old macCanvas docs.?

The only tweak I found helpful when opening Mac files in Canvas 11 for Windows is to copy your mac TTF or OTF font to the Windows font folder on the virtual machine.

Actually, if you're running an Intel Mac, I think you'll be very pleasantly surprised how SIGNIFICANTLY faster the Windows version is on your Mac, particularly when using any feature that uses filters, ESPECIALLY sprite effects, saving to PDF, rendering, etc.

That's sounds positive, but clearly very selective now I've looked at the Canvas 11 blog.

It seems that it would be best to wait for the Spring Upgrade/Fix, or will it be rolled into Canvas 12?

Pleased to see that James Wattaniceguy's still around. He's attended so well to so many crises, I think he should get a CANdo health care award.

Thanks are due to ADSEEBE for the degree of openness

    sincerely

I tested canvas 11 with virtual windows on my mac with OS10.5, and I was affraid to see that it has more bugs than canvas X (or canvas 9) has troubles (so many bugs that I ask myself how somebody can never hope to sell that "thing"). I shall continue with my old systems (what a desolation, since there is no real rival for the exact things done by canvas X on mac ; softwares like illustrator does not concern the same jobs ; there is a vacant place on the market for this software)
