I have a few maps that I want to include some information that is in xl or csv format. Just a few columns of property related detail- owners, addresses etc. (I use GIS but this its not a GIS issue.)
I've tried importing csv & txt files but neither really perform well and the formatting is not ideal. I've created an image and placed the file, but thats not ideal either.
    Any suggestions welcomed.
    regards, Richard

This solution is somewhat like going around the block to get to the house next door, but may get the result you are looking for.
    1. .CSV data imports nicely into Excel where it can be manipulated by sorting and other editing to get the content to BE what you want.
    2. The edited Excel rows and columns can then be copied and pasted into Word, whose Table functions offer richer formatting options to get the content to LOOK the way you want.
    3. The formatted Word table can then be pasted into Canvas. It goes in as a metaobject so it can't be edited in Canvas, but if you got the data to look the way you wanted before you left Word...

Thanks rob. I got that to work - it doesn't look real crash hot on screen, will see what the printed version looks like tomorrow.

    Hey Richard,
I copy and Paste into notepad which remove any formating. Then copy and paste into CanvasX as text.
    I find it easier
