Strange conflict with Office 2003

The following is repeatable on multiple machines in our office using Canvas 11.1 and MS Office 2003 with Outlook/Exchange Server:

    1. Start Canvas

    2. Start any MS Office program (Word, Excel, etc) and create or open a document

    3. Select [File > Send To > Mail Recipient (as Attachment)...] in Office program

    4. When email and attachment appear in Outlook, choose a recipient and click Send

    5. Nothing happens (Send click ignored)

    6. Close Canvas

    7. Click Send in Outlook again, email and attachment are sent successfully

In summary, an email/attachment initiated through the "Send to Mail Recipient as Attachment" menu item of Office programs will not send if Canvas 11.x is also running on the same machine. This is repeatable behavior on multiple machines in our office.

    Has anyone else experienced this?

  • Just followed the steps you described and the email went just fine. Very strange.

    Hi djsteve,

I have the same problem with Canvas 11.1 and "send to" function in other programs. It seems, that Canvas blocks Acrobat too. First I believed, this could be a malfunction of outlook, but it is not. Closing Canvas and the "send to" order does it very well. You have got the reason: Canvas 11!

there is an other mistake in Canvas 11/11.1

the path editor delivers wrong data in Excel 2003 (German), please see  the attachment.

The path editor shows data with comma but delivers data with "." point as decimal seperations. This creates fatal errors in Excel. Canvas 10  has no problems and delivers  data like shown in editor to Excel.

I hope for build up very soon.

    Ingo
