Still cannot import db from 7.0 to Pro 2.5

    I have tried all the suggestions I've seen here, and I still am unable to import my 7.0 database information into Pro 2.5  - neither the captions nor the keywords are coming over.  Following db optimization and selecting all images in the image well and exporting the db to a text file, changing the DB version to 1.6.0 (the same version number 2.5 exports), and importing, I get the message that is corrupt or from a different version.  Well, being from a different version is kinda the point.  I have also tried "convert database" (runs, but doesn't add any captions or keywords) and importing it as a compressed db (again - "different version").  Help! I have a lot of work invested in this db, and I hate to lose it all.  I could get captions via descript.ion files, though I'd hate to because there are a  lot of directories involved, but I have no idea how to get my keywords back.
