I am using ACDSee pro ver 2.0 build 238 and I am not able to view RAW images from my Sony Alpha DSLR.

I have the RAW previewing turned on in tools but it does not create preview images and if I try to view a RAW file it has the message "The source data format is not recognized."

Does ACDSee Pro v 2.0 support Sony's RAW format?

Maybe not this paticular camera, as RAW formats change from camera model to model.
Would suggest you contact Customer Service, and submit a request for your camera.(You can use the Supprt Form link in the header of the forum)

On the other hand, the Sony Alpha DSLR-A100, is listed in the supported camera list, of RAW formats.
Is your camera a different model?

Thank you. I am shooting a DSLR-350 - so maybe that is the issue. I took your suggestion and sent in a request to customer service asking if there was support for this model or not.

    Thanks again!

Well, this was 6 months ago. I still see no RAW images from my Sony A350, only black squares. I have ACDSee 10 build 244 and the latest update. Where is the support for my camera? It has been on the market for over a year.  It seems I will have to stop using ACDSee.

According to the list, the A350 is suported.

Have you applied the latest RAW update?

Yes I have this update installed. The list you mention above is for ACDSee 2009 and Pro 2.5. I am using ACDSee 10. I see no reason to buy another version of ACDSee just because I have bought another camera, I am content with ACDSee 10 and I just want the plug-in to see my RAW pictures.

Thank you very much for your advice. I cannot find an address to ask for customer support or doesnot that exist?

Strange. For some reason the link on the ACDSee 10 update page goes to the list for Pro 2.5 and PM09...

Hmm... I guess it's time to call the mothership. Try this page for submitting a question about this:

    Good luck ;-)

As you might know almost every camera manufacturer releases a new version of its raw format with each new camera model. In order to use those files you need to have the latest raw updates for your software, BUT...as implementing new formats is very complex work software vendors do this for their latest versions only. As you can see with adobe the newest raw updates are only available for the most current photoshop CS4 and not CS3. As I see the market its the same with almost every other commercial software in this area.

If you want to have support for the most current raw updates you need to update to the current version. If you are using 2.0 the update to 2.5 is free and so it allows you to also use the most current updates. In case of photo manager 10 I guess you have to upgrade to version 2009 because I don't know if this is also a free upgrade.
