    Hello all,

I'm going to the Social Media Marketing Bootcamp here in Victoria next week and I was wondering how you use social media?
    Are you on Facebook?
    Do you Tweet?
    Are you LinkedIn?
How has social media changed the way you communicate?

Let me know. I love to hear.

I'm a premium member in XING as it saves my time because I don't have to typewrite the business cards of my business contacts, anymore. After "real life" we simply meet in XING and keep in touch. I tried other communities like Facebook. But for me, it's just kiddie stuff I don't have time for.

Thanks Tankred. I hadn't heard about Xing. Anyone else using XING?

I'm on the Twitters. I don't use it as a "social" media, but primarily as an information stream. Following those people, orgs or companies of interest, can give you brilliant tips, leads, product info and activity updates. It will be even better as more businesses start cluing in to value of having direct and instant communication access to people who have (specifically) expressed their interest in what they're offering or doing.

All Twitter needs to do is upgrade their infrastucture so it doesn't run like a dial-up connection during daylight hours.

I agree, Twitter is great (and slow). I like to tweet about stuff that's going on in the community, new blog post, contest and such. I'm also following some very intersting people. My feed is twitter.com/melwood.

XING is the leading business networking manager in Europe. It has about 7 million members but about half a million premium members (including me). As a premium member, you can use all communication options which are available. Nearly every business contact I have, is available in XING, too. But I must admit, I do (the company I work for does) no business on the american continent.

Twitter isn't really big here in Germany. Maybe we're not the fastest when it comes to IT innovations.
