    Excuse me for my english...

I'm a geologist and I'm tryng Gis demo of Canvas 11.

I've a problem. When I open a shape file, Canvas changes the coordinate system in right way but in a scale to fit to paper. Now I want to print the drawing in different and integer scale (for a example 1:5,000). Canvas does it correct but the paper moves "under" the shape." How can I move the paper without loosing the right coordinates of the objects??

The same problem is with dwg or other format. I'd like to move the paper without changing the coordinate of the objects...

In other words, how can I give the right layout at my drawing without loose the georeferention.

    Best regards

Look under GIS 'Choose Reference point'
Tick Preserve objects position and also chose the units (I always use linear - never even investigated angular). Chose the point on map (on screen) where you want the paper map to start. Be sure to click one of the 9 reference points in the dialogue box and then the matching appropriate one on the screen.
May need a bit of playing around to get it just right.
I'd advise making a backup copy for a fallback if it all goes array.
But you also have the undo to fix an error.
    regards, Richard

Thank you very much. This way works.

I'm thinking, in general, it would be very useful to have the possibility to move paper without change the the objects coordinates, not only in GIS. The same necessity is for dwg or normal Canvas drawing. There isn't the possibility to do this, or add more paper in the same drawings (for explams more paper in A4 format) as in AutoCad.

    What do you think??

Not sure I understand just what you mean, but the process I decsribed preserves their true geopgraphic coordinates in their original position, just moves the paper.
Maybe we are talking cross purposes?
