Rotating with GIS

A bit of a noob at this.  I've imported a number of shape files and can scale the document and change projections without affecting the lat/long coordinates, but no matter how I try to rotate my map, the coordinates end up changing.

Is there a way to do this?

I know of no way that preserves the georeferencing.

If I have finished my map I just select all and rotate to suit.
If I think I'll need to add stuff later I make a copy of the job and use that to import into then copy and paste to the rotated drawing including something I can index it to once copied over.
Obviously set scale is an issue to in this.

The real draw back is the export function is useless as it isn't correctly referenced.

Its something that should be included as an (obvious) option.
