When I convert an edited Nikon RAW (D300 NEF) file to a JPG, the original “As Shot” image without the editing is converted.

How are you doing the editing, and how are you doing the converting?  ACDSee certainly cannot see edits done with any other application - no two applciations can ever use each others RAW processing - but if you did the edits using ACDSee's RAW Processing facility, then ACDSee should certainly use those edits in all conversions.  The only exception I've found is that if you select a processed RAW image or images to email, ACDSee will convert them to JPEG without paying attanetion to the procesisng, which strikes me as a bug.
