Properties Pane in Compare Images

Another refinement for the sake of efficient workflow: the Properties Pane in Compare Images could be useful to me, but I’d need it while actually comparing (it’s only available in One Image mode). Admittedly it would usually be too much clutter but sometimes very handy.

Further, I'd need access (for editing) to any of the properties I can see when using the Browser. In the current case, I’m trying to choose Ratings by comparing image quality. As it is, I have to make my judgment, then remember which value applies to which nearly identical picture while closing Compare Images and returning to the Browser.

  • Are you aware that you can show a selection of image properties below the images and/or thumbnails, although they aren't editable? (Right click and select Properties, choose Options > Metadata Options to select what to show.) You can also set ratings or categories, but it a multi-stop process, I'm afraid (Right Click > Set ...), rather than being a single click or keystroke.

Far from ideal, but perhaps better than nothing.

I wasn't aware of any of those things - thanks for the pointers!

    John,

Thanks. That will serve my immediate need. I do tend to want full access to all data at any time - who knows what I'll want in Compare Images next time. I frequently resort to running a second instance of ACDSee just to check on something without closing the editor (in this case that might have been very confusing).
