Processing DNG, saved image size is reduced

While processing a series of about 300 25MP DNG files; when saving the JPG image of the photograph ACDsee Pro 3 (Beta) would intermittently (1 in 50) save the image at a substantially lower resolution, equivalent to about 2MP.

Images where this occurred, I usually cropped the image and used the "Repair Tool" to Heal or Clone something within the image.  I have not figured out any specific steps to duplicate the issue, since it is intermittent.

Is the resolution actually lower - that is, if you check the Properties->File, does it report reduced image dimensions?  Also, are you explictly selecting a JPEG quality setting when saving the file?  Is it possible that different dialogs have different defaults, and that is the variable here?

Symptom update ... This is occuring with RAW (CR2) files also.

I started by changing to PROCESS / EDIT mode upon opening the 2592x3888x48b CR2 file.
I rotated (Rotate tool in EDIT) the image 3.5 degrees to the left, first with "Crop straightened image" selected and then changed to "Preserve straightened image" after the angle was set.  I went into the Crop tool to crop the image in my preferred position and noticed the image is now 699 x 1005 in size.  At this point I haven't tried saving the image, I am still working it.

I did try to duplicate the issue by following the same steps and it didn't work.  I will continue trying to find a common variable towards duplicating the fault.

After processing thousands of images, I still cannot determine an absolute method of reproducing this issue.  I use virtually the same processing procedure - the issue simply shows up once in a while, whether it is the first picture in the set, the last picture, or somewhere in between.  The file size or format doesn't seem to matter.
