Pro 3 Slideshow - Is there a limit to the number of photos?

    I am trying to create a slideshow with quite a few images (500+).  When I start the slideshow it opens and then gives and error and closes ACDsee completely.  I can create a slideshow with a few images fine.  Is there a limit to the number of photos that can be placed in a slideshow?
