I have just tried to log onto the 'old' ie non-blog forum where I had topics in discussion which for some reason or other were not transferred across to this 'blog'.

It is now closed??????   ie '' This menu has been disabled ''

What has happened to the topics and dare I say the old posts including posts which go back to ACDSee's last debacle in 2006.

I sincerely hope their is a very good explanation for these recent events.

Can we have a sensible and prompt answer this time please.

    Edit.

I have browsed thro the recent posts and there are no archived posts so any relevant info used for reference seems to be absent.  All posts lack a date and time which also seem strange, in fact everything is strange at present!

You need to document this stuff. I don't know what in JohnL's post you've identified as a "subforum", and I have little but guesses concerning what tags are or how to use them. Thus, the quote above is essentially gibberish for me.

The Forum Guidelines and Terms of Use topic is mostly rules. How about another topic explaining the forum layout and how to use its features? Some of the complaints may be from people who just haven't spotted a useful feature you think is self-evident.

Tags are for organizing images INSIDE ACDSee...I realize I'm seeing 'tags' everywhere online these days but honestly, I don't find them to be helpful when looking for information on a forum.

A traditional message board format is easy to use because it's deductive...narrow your information search to sub-forums and topics and threads while tag-based searching requires the user to know up front the keyword for the information they want.  Much more difficult for anyone who isn't already very familiar with the product and it's terminology.  If there's a vote then I vote to return to the other format!
