Possible Synchronize Bug

I think I ran into a possible synchronize bug. I did a search and did not get any hits so I figured I should post it.  Here is how I ran into it.

    1)  I am a 2.5 user and have had the product for a few years.

    2)  About 6 months back I stared doing edits where I retained the orginal after the edit so you can restore.

    3)  I update to 3.0 converting my DB along the way.

    4)  I installed a new External hard drive and did a new sync for 2009 (Created it new with 3.0).  The sync went fine.

    5)  When I went to sync again I kept running into Error Occurred on File <My File>.  Access Denied.

I get this error a lot and from what I can tell it appears that the errors are happening on the orginals of files I edited and used the "Save Original" feature.

This basically makes this feature useless.  Has anyone else ran into this issue?  Is there any possible work arounds for it besides restore the original and re-editing the file?

Oh.. on a side note...  What does the option "Automatically replace old files" mean in the sync  options.  Isn't that what Sync is suppose to do.  Update the old files with newer files on your destination drive.

So are people that upgraded not using the sync feature or are the people that upgraded did not use the save original feature in 2.5.   I will send this off to ACDSee support but wanted to see if I could be a confirmation here first.    I will assume the silence means no one has ran into this issue.

Well I tried a little experiment.  I did not have a lot of pictures for 2009 so I went and restored all of them to originals and then reprocessed one as Develop.  I did a sync and got the same error so it appears that Sync in my case is not working at all.  It gives access errors for each file I have developed or edited.

Count me in as a non-user of Sync.  I used it years ago, but stopped when I found I preferred other methods of doing what I previously did using that feature.  So sorry, I have no insight into it any more.

I also don't use ACDSee's sync.  I would suggest trying 3rd party sync (snyctoy and syncback.)  Most have a lot more features.  I didn't like the fact that if I moved files, ACDSee's sync treated them as new files and my backup grew with duplication.
