I work for the US government and we've been using ACDsee to manage photos for a long time. The problem I'm having is with photographs (jpegs) taken with Olympus Stylus 790SW camera.
1. We spend all day entering in image descriptions to the IPTC captions (since a mod's previous tip was to avoid using the EXIF image description field), and the description reverts back to OLYMPUS STYLUS
2. When using FotoSlate 4.0 to create photos with captions, the <tags> don't point to the obvious, in our case, it is putting the image description in twice, despite the metadata tag only being there once.
Is there a coherent list of what data fields (entered using Pro 2.5) the metadata tags in FotoSlate 4.0 point to? How can we fix the problem of the image descriptions not "taking" or appearing multiple times? We're all frustrated and just about ready to dump the ACDSee product and go with Lightbox - we use these photographs for evidence, we can't afford to have the <time stamp> tag point to the computer modified date/time when we want FotoSlate to use the EXIF date/time original.
Please help if you know how.
Thanks,
