Thanks Raptor.  I've sinced moved to NX2 for my editing needs but I'd still like to have ACDSee to be able to do quick batch conversions.  One thing I've read and am expecting is that all RAW converters act a little differently.  I expect NX2 to follow the D5000's settings and profiles perfectly but I've read that ACDSee doesn't always do that for their camera RAW conversions resulting in slightly different look to the converted photos.  We shall see.  Still, the browsing and handling in ACDSee I like a lot.

Probably looking at another month before anything is released I'm guessing.

That same browsing and handling that has had me hooked since ACDsee32.  I will probably have to upgrade my PC one of these years to cope with the "heavier" software that is coming out - I find that even Pro 3 Beta processes quite slow on my PC and if I try to process RAW with the Nikon software, I can almost boil a kettle, and make and drink a cup of (Rooibos) tea in between processing....

What CPU and RAM are you using with NX2?

On my desktop I'm using an Intel quad core Q6600 on XP with 4 gigs of RAM.  Moving to W7 64 bit soon.

On my laptop I'm using just a core2duo 1.5ghz with 2 gigs of RAM with Windows 7 64 bit RC.  NX2 works but it's definately slower than my desktop.  I'll be upping the CPU in my dv9500 laptop soon as well and upping ram to 4gigs.

So far for me NX2 is the bees knees when it comes to RAW processing for touching up.  I just want ACDSee to work with my D5000 images so that I can quickly view them and batch process if needed.

    Hello together,

now we have October 13th, and with the actual version Build 355, we still don't have a RAW support for the Nikon D5000. The camera is now nearly half a year on the market, so It's really got time to have that plugin ready. Much better it would be if the RAW update includes also more recent cameras like the Nikon D300s or the the new Canon EOS 7D. But don't wait to publish the RAW update for less recent cameras just to get newer ones also in it. It's better to make more updates, every quarter e.g. or so.

Yes, I did miss that - thanks. It mentions an update to Pro 3. Will there be support in Photo Manager?
