How to: "mass" Batch set IPTC-EXIF info to photos

My photos are stored in folders named after the date they are digitized.
All the date-folders stored under 1 rootfolder.

Right now, I need to go to each and every folder separately, select all the files and the "batch set info" (Exif and IPTC). Quite a lot of work...

Question: Is there a way to select *all* the photos (all the different folders) in 1 go and batch set info ?
    (Obviously without moving them)

I have not found a trick and maybe it is not possible at all...

    TIA

    Hello mrwul,

if I understood you correctly it can be done.

If you look at the left pane and open the folder view you will notice white check boxes on the side of each folder.

All you have to do is expand your main folder and check all the boxes from there on downwards - so the main folder + all subfolders you want images displayed from.

Now in the picture pane you will see all folders at first following all the pictures contained in them.
You can now start working with all files of those different folders.

    Hope it helped.

There are a number of differing ways to get at all images:
Image Well (Under the organise tab)
    Search for files named *.*
..but given that I would never want to batch process that many files (I would call that bordering on the dangerous) the simplest method is to expand all your folders using the asterisk key on the numeric keypad (press as many times as there are sub-levels) and then use normal windows operations such as Ctrl or shift click to select your folder range. Click an image and CTRL + A gives you all the images of those folders.

Hello to you Moongate / Samdring -

    Thank you sooo much!

This will save me a LOT of time indeed... to be on the safe side I can now update
say 5-8 folders in one go.

Once again, many thanks for the tip!
