    Hi All,

I have Acdsee Pro Photo Manager and Acdsee Photo Editor. I have consulted both help files but seem unable to find any reference to transparent or transparency .

So could please someone tell me how I make the white background of an image transparent. I would hate to ask my boss to ditch Acdsee abd go back to Fireworks. </forums.acdsystems.com/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

    Thanks !

The following link came about 'cos the OP needed to know how to create a watermark. However, I think the principles apply to your question.

    Hello Bramster,

If you have ACDSee Photo Editor, you can remove a white background. Since I don't have access to the help system, I'll make some suggestions based on Canvas technology. Using the Magic Wand tool, select the white area. Set your background color to "no color". Press Delete. The background should now be transparent.

Check the help system for "opacity". Let me know if this helps.

I needed to resize a transparent GIF that I made years ago in some other program I no longer have.

When I resized it it lost it's transparency.  Following the directions above did not work.  The new GIF continues to have a white background.

I'm using ACDSee Photo Editor 4.  After selecting all the white background with the magic wand tool I am not sure what to do.  When I click on the color selector there is no "no color" option.  If I just hit delete the white changes to the checkerboard but when I save that image as a GIF and save it, it is still on a while background when I try to overlay it on a web page.

    Any other tricks?
