I have a LOT of categories and after some reorganizing I think quite a few are empty. Is there a way to easily find them, so I can remove them ? Database optimizing does not offer an option to remove unused categories.
thanks

Do you mean ACDSee Categories (not IPTC)? If so ...
First select all your images (Organize pane > Image well, then Ctrl+A). You can then see from the indicators next to the category labels in the Organize pane those that have images assigned ("half-full" BLUE = some CHILD categories are in use; "half-full" GREEN = the category ITSELF is in use).
Categories with no indicator aren't in use, and so can be safely deleted. (For extra insurance you can select the "Confirm if category has assigned files" option: Tools > Options > Organize.)
Sorry for the delay.
THANKS a lot! Yes, this is definitely the solution. Yes, I meant the ACDSee database.
best regards
