    Hi,

unfortunately, my histogram has disappeared from ACDSee Pro and I don't know how to make it appear, again. The help file says, that it can be found in the menu bar under 'view' but there is no entry for it.

So, does anyone know other ways to make it appear again, maybe a keyboard shortcut?

    Thank you!

There should be a menu entry under [View] / [Histogram] when you're in the Viewer (not the Browser); 'CTRL+SHIFT+H ‘ is the shortcut key (useful when you're in 'Full Screen Mode' in the Viewer).

Is there another way to ressurect the histogram in the browser view?

  • In the browser it comes with Preview.

1 If necessary, turn Preview on (View menu).

2 If there's no histogram, right-click and toggle "Show Preview Info".

Thank you, but then the help file describes it wrong. Anyway, bad job from the guy at ACDSystem that writes the help file and thank you John_R, now I have my histogram back.

If you type 'histogram' into the 'Index' section of the Help File (English language) it reads correctly doesn't it ?

    - Using the Histogram

    1. The Histogram displays a graphical representation of the distribution of intensity levels of pixels for each color channel in an image.

    2. To display and use the Histogram:
In the Viewer, click View, and then select Histogram.

On the Histogram, select or clear the following check boxes:

R: shows or hides the red color channel.

G: shows or hides the green color channel.

B: shows or hides the blue color channel.

L: shows or hides the lightness of the image.

As you can see in my screenshot, there is no entry "Histogram" in "View". </forums.acdsystems.com/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

    Tankred,

but you're in browsing mode, not in viewing mode, as I can tell by the thumbs in the background. The menues have different entries, depending on which mode you're using. The viewer menu looks like this:

    </9891/histogrammro3.th.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

Ah yes, I mixed that up. I need the histogram in the browser not in the viewer, anyway.

My histogram isn't showing in viewing mode, and I hunted high/low!
    I'm using ACDSee Pro.
The help file is wrong. It says:

    2. To display and use the Histogram:
In the Viewer, click View, and then select Histogram.

However, in the Viewer I don't get this option! I don't have a menu at the top. I can get the menu with a right-click on the background, but the only options are

    • Full screen
    • Auto advance
    • Edit header/footer

But thanks to one small mention in this thread, I discovered it DOES pop up if I press Ctrl-Shift-H

I think they should correct the help file.

I'm not talking of the histogram in 'Preview Info' - this is USELESS. It takes up too much space and isn't detailed enough.

Incidentally, I tried Pro 2 and they don't seem to have fixed this.
And there aren't enough benefits to upgrade (not at the steep $90 upgrade price, anyway)
