    Hi all,

I'm exporting some objects as .shp files and several will not import into ArcMap, AutoCadMap or even back into CanvasGIS. The error message I get is "Number of shapes does not match the number of table records". None of the objects I'm exporting is grouped or combined.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

    Toney

Toney I know this sounds a bit stupid - but have you tried closing Canvas and re-exporting?
Also are their attributes or just shapes?  Can you save as dwg and import those?

    Richard,

Believe me, my first reaction anytime I have the simplest problem with Canvas is to close and re-do whatever I was doing.  Your answer is the right one 99% of the time.

These are just polygons/Bezier curve objects with no data.

Sorry I didn't get back sooner. I was out of town.

Sorry Toney but can't offer other suggestions.

I just drew some closed objects in Canvas using vartious tools and exported as shp and imported into Manifold and they came in without any issues.

Not sure what your projection is but I know that Canvas has a serious problem with our Aussie projections and doesn't retain the correct projection parameters - but they do export/ import OK.
So it wouldn't surprise me that other less used projections may also cause other issues.

As said - no joy for you on this one from me.
    regards
    Richard
