File Template (rename) Date only (not time) (possible?)

When Batch Renaming or Copying or otherwise manipulating files into new file names, the Templates allow me to insert a Creation Date (which is what I want) but it also inserts the timestamp (2008-09-22 02:300 with an embedded space that makes external file hanldling more difficult.

How can I specify to rename the files to a name that includes JUST the Date the file was created without appending the timestamp along with the Date (within the Template). THe Metadata token I am using is: <File Properties:Created Date> but it also picks up the Created Time HH-MM-SS which I do not want.

Any guidance, hints, voodoo to doo doo this?

    Welcome to the forum
Go into Tools>Options>General and set custom format at the bottom
The drop down for time does not give 'none' but just delete whatever entry it defaulted to.

I would also add that unless you are sure the file creation date is really the one you want, it is *usually* better to use EXIF:Date/Time Original if your intent is to capture the date the picture was taken, as this date will remain correct even if you make a copy of an image, a save as, or any other operation that would normally result in a new file being created with a new file creation date.

My question is similar: I want to be able to name all my images to begin with: "yyyyMMddHHmmss" with NO space, hyphen, underscore, or anything between the date and the time. There must be a way to accomplish this. Please advise. Thank you.

I think what I'd do is set the date and time fields as you describe (yyyyMMdd and HHmmss respectively).  Then on a rename, use both the "Template" and "Search and Replace" tabs - the template to insert the date & time, search & repalce to remove the space that it seems ACDSee inserts by default.
