I want to place/ paste (just plain put) some images over the top of a background image.
EG - I have abackground image of a stream. I have some images of the local native flora. I want to cut out irregular shapes of the flora and paste or sit them on top of the background image. I would like the pasted flora to have feathere'd edges as too the background image.
The problem of an irregular image still has a white rectangular background.
I can do it in Photoshop Elements, but want to do it in Canvas
I can't nut out how to do this in Canvas X/ 11.
help much appreciated, regards Richard

Here is the Canvas tutorials link:

Check under Image Editing, number 12 "Alpha Channel Masking" for a pdf that walks you through the process of isolating the piece of the image you want.
(NOTE: some of these samples were set up for earlier versions of Canvas, so you may have to find the correct command, palette or menu choice in the version you are using.)

thanks Michael - much appreciated and it reminded me of the very useful info given back onWizaerd's a while ago, not sure by whom, about Alpha Channels that I had never delved into but found very interesting. I'd better go back to that also.
It was annoying as mentioned I could get my result in Photoshop Elements but WANTED to do it in CANVAS!!
