Which software is better for editing? I know that ACDSee has the upper hand in organizing, etc? Any members use both?
ACDSee Pro 3
Elements 7-8 or ACDSee Pro 3

I have paint shop pro x2, picture window pro 5 and acdsee pro 3/photo editor 2008. The combination of pro 3 and the editor 2008 is awesome, your workflow is smooth as silk.

It will very much depend on the sort of editing you want to do.
ACDSee will do most of what you want, but it does not offer layers.
Also, if you want to print I have found the colour management poor and have always had to use Photoshop to get a reasonably accurate output.
I would not want to be be without ACDSee for its photo management - and the workflow and results for RAW processing and basic editing are excellent.
The best advice would be to download the trial versions and spend some time trying them before you decide.

Which software is better for editing?
There's no easy answer to that. It all depends on what kind of editing you do, and your preferred workflow.
I tried Elements v3 and ACDSee v7 out back-to-back 5 or 6 years ago, and ended up using ACDSee for organizing and viewing, but Elements for editing. (I never liked Elements Organizer; although it may have improved since v3, nothing I've heard from people who have upgraded has tempted me back.) That situation didn't change until Pro v2 came along with its "Advanced Shadows and Highlights" tool. After that I did start to use ACDSee's editor, but only for that one feature; I still used Elements for everything else.
Then Pro3 arrived, and I found I really like its "non-destructive" Jpeg editing (I’m not the kind of person who gets things just right first time, every time). I also like the so-called “Perspective Correction” tool (I had been using the PTLens plug-in in Elements). Of course Pro3’s “Develop” system isn’t perfect, nor does it do everything I want, but I do now edit far more image just in ACDSee than I ever did before. Having said that, I still couldn't do without Elements for editing some images (e.g. where I need layers), and I still prefer its cloning tool (which, of course, isn’t available in Pro3’s “Develop” mode anyway).
So I think you'd really need to try both and see which suits you best (or whether, like me, you conclude that you need both).

I chose Elements because it gives me more detail when editing my images. If ACDSee Pro 3 had the Elements editor it would be almost perfect.

Personally I use both. 95% of my editing I do using Pro and about 5% I use Elements 5. I have Photoshop CS also but I have not had the time to learn it and since I am a hobbiest I feel Elements and Pro3 compliment each other nicely.
