Draging pictures into their fields in templates

    Hi,

    I´m pretty new to PE and maybe this is just a problem of my own incompetence but I tried to use the software as I and maybe other new users would expect it to work.

    I used the file -> new from template function and opened a template of my choice.

    I already played around with pictures before so I had some images in the "basket?" below the template I just opened.

    For me the goal seemed to me dragging one of the pictures into one of the square fields of the template called "photo"

    But when I do that the picture of my choice is not inserted (resized) or automatically rotated to fit the frames for photos in the template.

    Is this really meant to be done manually by me like resizing, rotating, cropping and moving the images I want into the corresponding fields?

    Hi Moongate,
    It would be nice if it were drag & drop like that. With an option to pan & resize.

    My sister has created a video on the present steps.

    But if you'd like to suggest another one - please do

    I was hoping for drag and drop on to templates too but I didn't get it.

    The current way is quicker than in the version 4 but still not easy.

    I was hoping for an object handler that you could simply drag and drop a photo into a template (a la fotoslate). I guess i'll still be waiting for fotoslate 5! <<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

    Excellent tutorial for template use. Explains it all quite thoroughly.

    Hello JD,

    yes this was also the first thing I tested after installing the new beta,...I guess it was also the first thing I reported here after installing the last beta ;-)

    I´m not sure if they want to implement it anyway?
