Device Detector not wanted

I don't need the Device Detector. I don't want it intruding when I insert a device, whether it has photos on it or not! How do I make it go away and never bother me again???

The documentation seems to assume that need will never occur.

I'm running Windows XP (on my laptop).

    Thanks.

    Hi D. Cheasebro,

Or you can remove 'ACDSee device detector' component to prevent it come back again

Twice I've rebooted, and before doing anything else, I inserted my flash drive and the Device Detector pops up. There must be something in the system, that I ought to have control of, that (without my authorization) says ACDSee Device Detector should run instead of Windows Autoplay. Where is it and how do I turn it off? So far, it isn't in Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs or msconfig.exe>Startup tab .

    So where's it hiding?

You shall choose 'ACDsee Pro2' in the program list and then click the 'Change' Buttom. Follow the installShield wizard, and remove the 'ACDSee Device Detector'
