Color Management in ACDSee Pro 3 "Process" editor

I just started using ACDSee Pro 3, and I noticed a bug with Color Management.

I have a wide-gamut screen. I have Color Management configured with "Apply to thumbnails and preview" and that works fine.

The issue is: if I click on the new "Process" button, then Color Management is lost, and you cannot adjust the colors of a picture if the colors you see when Developing are not the same as when just watching a picture.

yes - me too! This was reported in an earlier thread.  Those of us with wide gamut monitors can't really test this software at the moment.  Hopefully the next version will correct this issue.

I tried to see if it was already reported but did not find anything.

If they are aware and fixing the issue, that's fine.

Beta 2 behaves the same way.  When in the Process tab / Develop settings and working with raw images (CR2 in my case), color management is not being applied.

Have you tried playing with the various settings in the new Color Profile control at the bottom of the Tune tab?

The color profile option in beta 2 solves the issue - at least for me with my wide gamut monitor.  You do need to set it though - it might be a good idea to have it set to using a profile by default.

I suppose you could partially automated the process by creating a preset and just applying that preset to everything immediately on import.  But I agree, it would seem to me to make more sense for this to be a global option that "sticks".

OK, I missed the Color Profile setting in the Process tab.  My current setting are as follows:

In the Tools / Options / Color Management dialog I:

    • Enabled Color Management
    • Set the default input profile to sRGB
    • Set my monitor profile to the custom profile I generated through calibration
    • Set my printer profile to the custom profile I generated through calibration
    • Left rendering set to Perceptual

In the Process tab / Color Profile

    • I enabled Use working space profile
    • Set the profile to sRGB

    Questions:

    • Do these settings make sense as defaults?  If I set the working profile to anything else then it does not match the image show when I return to the View tab.
    • Can I make this a default for all my photos?  Currently I have to set the color profile for every RAW image in the catalog.
    • Does Quick View support color profiles or is it best to just disable quick view?

    Thx

That makes perfect sense to me and is what I usually use.  I don't think that you can set a default and I think it should default to use working space profile and sRGB in the process tab since that would not upset those who don't use color management.

I note that the slide show does not use color management so is no good on wide gamut monitors.  Perhaps not a bug as it is not implemented on Pro 2.5 either.
