CANVAS SYMBOL PATTERNS

using Canvas 11 build 1206, I can't get to create my own Symbol fill patterns.  I've followed the tips from
'Seamless Symbol Fill Patterns Revealed' but can't drag the completed fill into the editor window of the symbol tab as explained.  Is this possible in version 11?  I remember 10 to 11 caused some issues where certain things didn't work in 11 that did in 10.

Also somewhere I remember a site that offered fill patterns for download?  I'm using the GIS side so fills for this sort of work appreciated.
But if I could just get my own to work then I'd be fine.
    regards

    Richard

    Hi Richard,

Mike Bedford at Plugs n Pixels once sold some CD collections of fills and a whole lot more. The link is http://www.plugsandpixels.com/

I bought them years ago. Perhaps he is still selling them.

I ended up working out how to do what I wanted.  Was following an old tutorial and misundertsood the final part.  I also found some freebies on the Wizaerds site.

Hadn't thought of Mike , thanks.

Its good to be able to create custom fills etc for my GIS work.

  • Andreas Plesch developed fill patterns based on the standard US Geological Survey fills that you may find useful.

He includes the following note on the patterns to indicate their source and availability:

"Adopted from US Geological Survey Open File Report 99-430
    http://geopubs.wr.usgs.gov/open-file/of99-430/
and converted to Canvas by Andreas Plesch
    http://structure.harvard.edu/~plesch/map%20patterns/index.htm

Please give proper credit if you use these patterns."
