It's been awhile and last time I heard any news on this was from here,
    http://forums.acdsystems.com/index.php?sho...ded&show=&st=&#

I don't have a specific date, and I'm new but I don't think the wait should be too long. I'll post when the information is available.

Can we have a approximate date on it? It's somewhat a letdown not be able to get any work done on ACDSee with my 40D images... </forums.acdsystems.com/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

  • Hello,

We are gearing up again...It was a long summer preparing the ACDSee Pro 2 release. The team put in tremendous hours to ready the product -- we needed a little breather...

In any case, development is now looking into updating our RAW support. At this time a date has not been communicated but I would expect an update in 4 weeks.

    Thanks,
    Mark

In my book that makes the 4 weeks up today

Well, out of desperation, I gave lightroom a try today and it was simply awesome. I think I will use lightroom from now on...

Just bought a 40D to replace my 30D. What, no support on Pro yet???? Not impressive.

I don`t understand, everybody (Adobe, Bibble) can handle the 40D Raws since one Month, and ACDSytems let wait their Customers. RAW Processing was the Main Reason why i bougth Pro2, and now i have to use Faststone to browse trough my 40D Raws. Very disapointing . </forums.acdsystems.com/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="mad.gif" />

No offense, but it's silly and almost sad in some way that I kept hearing, e.g.

    • You got PM about this and that regarding to the blah blah blah announcement (why don't you post it on here instead of singling out others on here; you're making it seemed like unequal treatment; if you got info to share with other members through PM, you might as well post it on here; I, personally prefer transparency.
    • I got some news and blah blah blah and yet, nothing shows up...
    • it's coming "soon"... and blah... go figures

What do you mean by "soon"?
I'm waiting for this since I installed Pro2. Now I'm back home with 16GB of RAW-files I need to work with. Right now I'm using Lightroom but I wanted to do it my "usual way". Any chance to see this update this week?

My guess is that they will announce it some time next week... or the week after... or the one right after the next... or SOOOOONNN...... </forums.acdsystems.com/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

hopefully "soon" doesn't mean the same as the "coming soon" when they promised a bugfix for the fullscreen-issue with ACDSee 9 and Vista. "soon" there was "with the next version". </forums.acdsystems.com/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />

    Hi guys,
I am trying to get the information to you as I am aware of it.

Adrian seemed to have special circumstances & I was trying to accomodate that. As a result now others are unhappy. I'm sorry. I am very transparent... read on

This week I have been at the ACD offices in Victoria BC getting settled into my new role. This means that I've been having 6 + meetings per day with various departments & I've been really busy. There is no way for anyone to know that. I am going to be working remotely from my home in Minnesota & so I'm trying to learn as much as I can while I'm at ACD. It's been very busy!

How does this affect you? Yesterday morning I had the opportunity to attend a session on RAW, how it works & their challenges in decoding images for camera, the goal for speed, etc.

As a result I haven't been online as much as I usually am. That will change next week. Please have patience. I did post news that ACD is shifting their system for upgrading the RAW updates. It will be on a more regular basis.

Glad to hear it, Connie. RAW updates have been a major disappointment for a "Pro" product.

Thats True, Breeze Browser supports now the 40D, DxO Labs want to bring their Update out end of the Month (they really got Workt becouse they have to test the 40D with all major Lenses).

H Connie....I do not see why you have to apologise for anything...all you are doing is trying to placate the masses(including me) </forums.acdsystems.com/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

If this is indicative of the support in the future then I for one am looking to move.
