I've been trying for months to get the ACDSee 10 Photo Manager full viewer to display only stills and not audio or video that may be in the same folder, but it ignores me and tries to show them anyway!  This is driving me nuts!

I set the following settings to OFF (no checkmarks):

Tools->Options->Preview->Preview audio and video clips: OFF

Tools->Options->Preview->Autoplay audio and video clips: OFF

But it still does it anyway!

I hate how it takes tens of minutes to even start to display multimedia files when I don't want to see them at all.  I've always got to abort if there's any multimedia files (anything other than stills) in the same folder.  What a pain!

I've got the latest updates available.

Have you tried to disable the viewing of the files in the browser window? In the toolbar above the thumbs, you can find an entry called "Filter by". Click in it and select the last entry called "Advanced filters". Check "apply filtering criteria" and then select the file types you want to see below. In your case it must look like this:

    ImageHost.org

Hope this helps, otherwise please let me know.

    Thanks for your reply, Tankred!

That does solve the problem if I explicitly enter thumbnail browse mode first and then turn off "Show media files" before viewing the stills in the directory, but that's fairly inconvenient.  What I want to do is double-click any single still image in a folder that contains both stills and videos and then view only the stills in full-size full browser mode.  Going into thumbnail browse mode first requires an extra step that I'd like to avoid.  But it's an acceptable solution in the short term, and I thank you for your help.

Yet it seems that what I describe in my OP should be enough, and that therefore there's probably a bug in ACDSee 10 that results in it ignoring the settings I describe there.

I'll take it up with official tech support.  Thanks again.

I just wanna add that I found this post for the same reason.

I have the same problem that my "once up on a time" good image viewer is now trying to show me music files when I wanna watch pictures.

Is there a way to turn that thing off I wanna know about it cause I like the image viewer part, but right now it's just annoying. Could I please get a reply from the techsupport about this too.

    Thanks!

Do I understand you correctly. You have the same problem as described above with the same application but the post from Tankred does not solve your problem. Why is that so?

    OP, and ETM,

Have you tried turning off the ID_Media.apl under Tools/Plug-ins/Plug-in Settings/Image Decode?

Uncheck this plugin, restart ACDSee add see if this helps with your "problem"

Moongate: Well I would have been glad if it did but it obviously don't work that way. :o(

Chippy: Yes, that did the trick. That was the solution I was looking for. Thanks! =o)

    Solution found!
