Cannot Restore Backup - ACDSee Ver. 8

I purchased a new computer and I can't get ACDSee to restore. I get the message "Database being restored is not valid.  Restore cannot continue."

The photos are on an external drive which I copied to Drive C using ACDSee.

On my old computer the main photos were on an internal drive called "Drive E" with a backup copy on an external drive.  I was unable to copy the files back to a drive "E" as it is a removable disk on the new computer.

I hope that someone can help me as I certainly don't want to catalogue thousands of photos again.

I guess I should add that I am now running a 64-bit operating system.

I'm not sure how this is related to your other report of problems, but see my response to your other post.  I think your best bet is simply copying the database folder if not changing versions of ACDSee.  If you are changing versions, then your first try should be copying the db and then running Database->Convert Database on the copy.  And next should be doing a text file export from the old computer (select all images, then Database->Export->Database using the text file option).
