Thanks Chippy
Your post made me try again and it seems to be folder-specific. Some folder contents save and save as OK and others not. Have not found a pattern yet. It happens in both view and edit - it comes up with
Save failed
Can't write output file
Another update
Tried the images on v9 and worked OK after the warning that they are 16 bits per channel tiffs and worked OK on Pro v8
^ Could you share one for us to try please ?
I have no problems on Vista (6000) Ultimate with Build 201 at present.

Thanks for offer - sent a jpeg (Tiffs are too large) to your email
Further update
1. Iptc keywords, for example, cannot be added to these 'rogue' files
2. Although the message shown in my second post above claims no file written, saving as DOES produce a second file of 0 bytes which Pro2 itself cannot then delete - have to use winexplorer

Ok, thanks.
Re the .tif I had 'Rapidshare, YouSendit, MegaUpload' or other free file hosting services in mind, rather than e-mail </forums.acdsystems.com/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
Seems the problem may well be due to xmp changes done through another app - not absolutely certain but many rogues appear to have same modified date. All other apps available to me deal with them OK though
