Same thing with me.  Just installed Snow Leopard.  I downloaded the beta version again and reinstalled and got the same result----requires force quit-----will not launch.

I get a pop-up message ..it says.."ACDSEE Beta for Mac will not open" Im worried about my photos. How can I go back 24 hours on my Mac?? I never set up the "Time Machine".

I am not at all happy with "Snow Leopard. I downloaded it..and nothing happened..save THIS!! My advice is everyone could do without this useless piece of software. I am on the horn with Apple in the morning...and they WILL remember me.  Gggrrrrrr!! Look everybody..Apple is really mimicking a PC nowday!!!      email me at    robinthebear@yahoo.com

Robinthebear, it's not Apple, it's ACDSee---they will get it fixed---remember like everyone has reminded me on the other ACDSee blog----you were a BETA tester which means anything can go wrong---it doesn't have to work, THEY ARE TESTING AND YOU HAVE AGREED TO BE THE TEST SOURCE AND FEEDBACK.  It has not changed any of your photos, they all reside in the folder  you put them it.  Generally "Pictures".  I use many different photo handling programs, ACDSee is just one.   Also, don't GRRR at apple they are NOT PC.  Anyone who upgrades an operating system be it PC or Mac without doing a full back up is not being very smart about it-----GRRRR at yourself.  You should be using time machine and backing up hourly, it's so simple.  That's the beauty of the mac.  Thats one of the reasons for switching for me.  The upgrade has worked perfectly accept for ACDSee which is BETA--remember.

Not sure we all need to add our name, but does the same thing for me.

p.s.  I love Snow Leopard so far.  No issues, faster and stable.

    Hi everyone,

Thanks for the feedback.  We'll be working on fixing this for a future beta or final release.

Tarjin,  I am so suprised that you all wouldn't have known about the release of Snow Leopard in advance of us the public getting it, and have been looking into issues.  My understanding from insiders at Mac is that SL was really just a very indepth update (like a service pack 3 for XP) rather than a completely new operating system.   With this said.  I do enjoy using the browsing capabilities of Beta.  Do you seriously think that you will not release a fix of this until final release.  If it is a future beta are we talking days or weeks.  I am going to roll back to a previous backup before the install of SL if you really think it is going to be that long--I'd rather have access to ACDSee Beta than SL.  Thanks for your advice and help on this issue.  I have had Zero problems with any other programs and the SL update.

Unlike tooth shooter I don't intend to roll back to Leopard. That means that I and probably a lot of other people will not be able to participate in Beta testing until a update comes out. It should be in the interest of ACDSee to get the software working for Snow Leopard as soon as possible.

I decided not to roll back as well.  Everything else is working so well why go backwards.

Same here, it's not starting. However, there is no way I roll back to OSX 10.5. Snow Leopard works way too well for me.

all new macs come with SL 10.6, so I would hope that a new beta would be available quickly - otherwise it would indicate how far the product actually is from a true beta

I'm planning to upgrade to Snow Leopard in near future, but now that I read about the incompatibility issues with ACDSee it makes me not want to upgrade. I use ACDsee a lot because it's a great and useful program, so PLEASE DO FIX IT ASAP!!!!!!!

You should upgrade to Snow Leopard now because it's a good price.  I don't know how long the current price point will last.    Just because ACDSee Pro for Mac Beta doesn't work on it now doesn't make Snow Leopard less attractive an upgrade to other programs that work perfectly on it.
