My workflow thus far has been to add my metadata for a batch of photos, then run Embed Database Information (which runs very quickly), then kick of a Batch Set Information and go off and do something else because BSI is so slow on my PEF files (as reported elsewhere). Unfortuantely, I just discovered that running Batch Set Information marks the images as needing embedding, so all my images are showing as embed pending, making that featureless useless.
Workaround of course would be to run BSI first then EDI, but given how fast BSI is and how low BSI, it's much more convenient to do it the way I do. Also, BSI doesn't seem to trigger the regeneration of thumbs, but EDI does for some reason (it shouldn't!), and running BSI means the thumbnail generation is done by the time BSI finishes, which is I suppose one advantage of BSI being so slow :-)
