Batch Resize to max. filesize

It would be great if ACDSee cud -optionally- resize photos to a max. filesize.

E-Bay and other sites require files not bigger than xx kb. Right now, users have
to resize by xx pct and after a few tries finally arrives at the max. size that is
    accepted.

It would serve its purposes if a size cud be set and then run batch-resize.

You can do this using Tools > Batch Processor. Click on the word Resize (VERY unintuitive; who would think to click on the static text label for a checkbox), and a panel of options shows up to the right. In the "Resize by" dropdown, select "Megapixels" and choose the number of megapixels you want. Then click Next, make sure the Output options are set the way you want, then click Next again.

Incidentally, in case any of the design team is reading this, the final Next button should be labeled "Process Now!" (like in the Upload Manager wizard), so you KNOW something is going to happen right away and you're not just going to the next screen of the wizard.

I too use the resize by megapixels as a way of approximating resizing by size - a given resolution in megapixels and a given JPEG compression will usually result in more or less the same file sizes.  But it's still a bit of trial and error to figure out what combination of resolution and compression will yield the file size you want.  Luckily, it's rarely important to nail the file size *exactly*, so I just go with a resolution / compression combination that gets me under whatever filesize limit I need.  And luckily, it's not like I need to do this often for lots of different file sizes - there's basically only one place I upload images to that doesn't resize images on upload automatically, so I just have a preset/template to get my images the way I need them for that particular site.
