Having just processed 2000+ images, I thought I would share my experience and hopefully improve future releases of ACDSee Pro.
1. Output Options
Under Other Options 'Skip' can be set "When output file already exists:".
However, the processing for each file is made BEFORE the check is made whether the file already exists and then the file is skipped! The Event Log accessed by clicking the View Log button does states in the Details column "This file was skipped".
The more sensible action is to check whether the file already exists BEFORE carrying out the processing. Each image takes 15 sec to process and I'm processing 2000+ images with ACDSee frequently crashing!
2. CPU usage
Batch Processing uses a high amount of CPU resulting in other apps being almost unusable. I would like to see a more intelligent use of CPU where the user can set the maximum amount of CPU available, for example xx% if the PC is in use, yy% if PC has been idle for more than zz minutes (all set by user), the defaults could be 20%, 80% and 5 mins respectively. Other applications have this feature for time consuming tasks.
3. File selection
The Batch Processor menu option cannot be selected if an *.avi file is part of the selection, it is grayed out. Better to skip files that cannot be Batch Processed and to state that has been skipped with the reason in the log. Very frustrating to de-select individual files in the batch selected and then to try again.
