backspace key

    Hello,

I prefer keyboard only navigation in thumbnail browsing and organizing.
I was using some old ACDSee (3.xx?) and now I'm trying 8.xx version and backspace key works different way:-(
It still returns up one level in directory structure but...
Old ACDSee backspace selects directory I'm returning from.
New ACDSee always selects first item in directory:-(

    Imagine my situation:
I have one folder with a lot (500+) directories named by dates (04-01-06, 04-02-06, 04-03-06...).
Each directory contains photos I made that day.
When I browse pictures from for example 490.directory the most often I want to continue browsing in 491.directory.
Old ACDSee backspace was great. I simply press backspace, right arrow key (next folder) and enter key (entering 491.day directory).
New ACDSee backspace returns to first item in folder and I have to spend a lot of time moving back to 491.directory:-(

Is there any fix or other solution I overlooked ?

    Thank You,
    J.Lockey

    Hello Locke,

that behavior was changed a long time ago (with v4 or v5 I believe). Although there have been complaints and requests to restore the old functionality, nothing has happened, unfortunately. I, too, would prefer the way it worked in v3, but AFAIK there's no way to restore it in v4 or later. The only way to "quick-jump" to a certain folder is to press the first few letters (or digits in your case) of that folder's name, e.g. 04-03. That's not as comfortable, but it's a workaround.
