AVCHD M2TS File Support

    This may be wishfull thinking, but are there any plans to support thumbnailing and viewing AVCHD M2TS files with ACDSee? Or has anyone discovered a CODEC which will allow this.

    Hi Dan,

    I definitely support your request.
    I am andling my photos and my videos with ACDSEE Pro.
    The handling of DV-AVI files is very good and it is a great support.
    I have now and AVCHD camcorder (CANON HF100) which generates MTS files and M2TS files in H.264 format.
    If I change the extension of the files to .mpg ACDSEE can handle the files without a problem. So there should not be a big issue in support the .mts or m2ts extension.

    May be a feature could be added where you can specify that a new extension should be handled the same way as an already known extension. This would be already a great help.

    Hello Harold,

    Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, changing the extension on my Sony M2TS files doesn't work. I'm thinking all AVCHD files are not created equal. I have the feeling a fix is not far off though.

    Anybody find a viable workaround for this? I too just got a HD Cam and am a long time user of ACDSee. Using Sony's picture motion browser is kiling me! ;)

    Any news in regards to AVCHD support within ACDSEE Pro ? My HD Video collection has grown quite large and I am resisting looking for an alternative program. However, using ACDSEE along with Sony PMB is getting to be cumbersome..

    Anybody have any other systems that have worked for them?

    Is there any word on this yet? Is this the right place to post suggestions and get feedback? I need to be able to handle the MTS files in ACDSee. Please advise.
