Autorotation Issue

  • Thanks in advance for your help on my problem today.

To make it easy to understand (I hope), I'll first state what is my goal ?

In ACDsee's Folder Pane, I want ALL my pictures, at ALL times to be shown horizontally, regardless of how I held my camera for a particular picture. To be brief, I want to see my pictures in ACDsee's folder pane as I'd see them in the Thumbnails view I would get in the  Microsoft folder where my pics are kept. I do not want the program to autorotate any of my pictures for visualization in ACDsee's Folder Pane EVER. I guess this a pretty simple and fair request. Nevertheless I haven't been able to set ACDsee up in a way to achieve my simple goal.

In the Tools/Options/File List/Thumbnail Info, I have alternatively activated or deactivated the Autorotate overlay icon. The only effect is a display effect where a light blue icon is displayed on the thumbnail of pictures that have been rotated by ACDsee based on the EXIF info, I guess.

How can I turn off the autorotate function definitively and manage the rotation of my files strictly manually ?

I am grateful for any help, tip or suggestion on this as it prevents me from moving forward with this program. I would uninstall it and find another, more flexible, software, should it not be possible to use the display criteria I need.

Tools/Options/General (the first entry). There you can find an option that's called "Rotate pictures automatically based on..." or something like that. Uncheck this option and it's done.

  • Thank you so much !

It was under my nose all the time and couldn't see it. One suggestion though, I have queried the product Help/Contents section and could not find any related topic for rotate or autorotate. It might be a good idea to incorporate them in next versions of the Help feature.
