Can I auto download from the CF card? I just want to put the card in the reader and have this recognised and auto downloaded into acdsee. The previous version of 2.5 did this. Can anyone point me in the right direction with the new version. Thanks.

According to acdsee no it wont. They removed this possibility. Why? It speeds up a pros workflow. Please get it sorted in an update.

Hi bluesnappa,
You can import directly into 2.5, as long you have Device Detector, running in the systray.
I have just done it with a CF in a reader, and it works perfectly.
The options in the DD should be : When new media is detected.....Import with ACDSee (checked)When the next screen opens, you have the other options, of where to import to,enter metadata, etc.

True chippy, but the previous version could be programmed to import immediately a card was inserted (using device detector) and the images would be put straight into a new folder without any input from me and the only thing I needed to do was click on 'display images'. For freelance work speed is essential and I hope they sort this or for pro work this version is just not good enough. It is fine for slower workflow but really they should not get rid of useful features in an upgrade...surely I cannot be the only one that found auto download straight into a pre determined folder a great help?

I think what has happened is the new device detector in 2.5 (which is V5) is what you are seeing.
Look in the Start menu, under ACDSee, and see if V4 is listed for DD.If it is, run that one instead of V5.If you have a previous version of ACDSee, like Pro 2, or PM 10, and have not un-installed, it should still be there,
I have both versions, and the V4 is the one you are wanting.

Hi chippy, v3 and v5 are in acdsee start menu as you suggest. If I select v5 to delete, it asks 'deleting v5 will remove acdsee 2.5' Will this remove dd v5 or the whole of 2.5?

Sorry meant to put 'delete v5 will remove shortcut' so how do I delete DDv5? All acdsee need to do is create an option to 'always import with selected settings' This would solve the problem.

Right. Deleting a shortcut from the Start menu, does not delete the program.
There is no need to delete v5, as what ever version is running, when you shut down or restart ,will still be running when you restart
All you need to do, is start DD v3 or 4, and have the icon in the systray.Everytime you re-boot,DD will be there, unless you close it from the systray. If you do this, the DD will tell you how to restart DD again .
