ACDSee process hangs and uses 95% CPU after database error

I experienced this problem with both ACDSee 2.0 and ACDSee 2.5.  When ACDSee cannot access it's database it gives a dialog 'ACDSee must close because it cannot access the database'; which is fine and expected.  However, ACDSee will not start afterwards.  If you go into the process manager you will find a hung ACDSee process that uses up almost 100% CPU.

    This should be fixed, thanks.

Seem I got the same problem like mr.malibu too.

I'm using ACDSee 9 and now I can't open it. but the CPU are rising to 100% while ACDSee 9 wasn't open anyway...

No matter to fix it, even I tried to uninstall and reinstall again.

I had the same problem in VISTA, ACDSee Pro 2 hanging..

    I removed all files from C:\Users\MyAccount\AppData\Local\ACD Systems\Catalogs\20Pro\Default

and then ACDSee started normally. I guess that one of the files there got corrupted. I did not spend time to find out which one, maybe someone else has done that already?

yup.....Teddy from HK here, I use acdsee pro 2.5 build 358 with such problem too. I'm now thinking to use adobe lightroom instead.. I do think acdsee support pay better support on it!
